What to expect from time with the horses at Serendipity

Why do we use Horses?

We use horses because they show us the 'herd' environment and how this can be adapted to help our own families and relationships function better. Horses are very emotionally connected to humans; for thousands of years we have seen horses as gentle, powerful and, at times, intimidating animals. They encourage us to see the world from a simple perspective of 'Am I safe or not?". This in turn helps develop new ways of seeing our personal world and encourages movement towards a safer and happier Self and 'Herd'.

We provide a 6-week program for young people to explore how being with horses can assist them in understanding themselves, their reactions, their thoughts and feelings and how and why they show up like they do.

We help with the following:

·       Self-development

·       Communication

·       Boundaries

·       Mindfulness

·       Trust

·       Self-Acceptance

·       Self-Leadership

·       Self-Empowerment

Fun and learning with the horses are the foundational bedrock tenets of our work that help young people become self-aware and confident.

All of the activities are on the ground with 3 – 5 very safe horses that have done this work for most of their lives.  There is no riding involved.
